A linear model for the machine tool assembly error prediction considering roller guide error and gravity-induced deformation

Abstract: In assembly, error prediction and control according to the error state of the machine parts are the key links to ensuring the accuracy of the entire machine tool. In this study, an assembly error modeling method considering the error of the roller guide and gravity-induced deformation is proposed. First, based on the Hertz contact theory, a nonlinear error propagation model for the roller guide to the moving part is proposed. With this model, the analytical relationship between the straightness error of the gu… Show more

“…CNC machine tool is one of the complex electromechanical products, improving its quality has been a research hotspot. [20][21][22][23] Due to the complex coupling relationships among quality characteristics, 11 the variation of a QC will affect others, which will lead to serious quality risk problems of CNC machine tool, such as processing efficiency and processing quality, and even personal safety. Actually, the decoupling analysis of QCs is very important to improve the stability of product quality.…”

“…Studies show that the machining performance is closely correlated to the dynamic performance of the machine tool. 1 The deformation during the machining will affects the accuracy and the surface quality of the workpiece. Meantime, it will reduce the productivity and lifespan of the cutter, resulting in the useful life reduces.…”
