A Lorentz invariance violating cosmology on the DGP brane

Abstract: We study cosmological implications of a Lorentz invariance violating DGPinspired braneworld scenario. A minimally coupled scalar field and a single, fixednorm, Lorentz-violating timelike vector field within an interactive picture provide a wide parameter space which accounts for late-time acceleration and transition to phantom phase of the scalar field. : 04.50.+h, 98.80.-k PACS

“…On the other hand, non-minimal coupling of the scalar field and induced gravity provides a new degree of freedom which requires special fine tuning and this may provide a suitable basis to treat ghost instability. Lorentz invariance violating scenarios are other alternative paradigm which may shed light in this problem due to their wider parameter spaces [33]. As we have shown here, non-minimal coupling of the scalar field and induced gravity has the capability to account for bouncing solutions.…”

“…As we shown in [11], for study Lorentz violation, we assume a vector u µ in the extra dimension. So, this local frame at space-time is unavoidably selected as the preferred frame.…”

“…In this regard, DGP model also predicts deviations from the standard 4-dimensional gravity in over large distances. However, impact of Lorentz invariance violating models (LIV) on cosmology has been studied in [9,10,11]. This models has been used in the context of scalar-vector-tensor theories [9,11].…”
