Abstract: The article reviews studies devoted to the prognostic effectiveness of neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL). NGAL is a predictor of acute kidney injury. The content of NGAL in urine is a more effective indicator for the diagnosis of acute kidney injury, compared to NGAL in serum and blood plasma.
