A measurement system based on internal cooperation of cameras in binocular vision

Abstract: In this paper, a measurement system based on internal cooperation of cameras in binocular vision is proposed. In terms of the hardware structure, the system is composed of a binocular vision module, a controllable platform and an electronic gradienter, which can be used to collect binocular images and measure horizontal and vertical angles between the binocular vision module and objects. In terms of data processing, a new measurement method based on the cooperation of monocular and binocular vision (MBC) is pu… Show more

“…Compared to other techniques, visual localization technology has advantages such as simple structure, no accumulation error, and high cost-effectiveness. Zhou et al [20] proposed a measurement method that utilizes monocular and binocular visual synergy, resulting in absolute and relative measurement errors below 3.5%. Wu et al [21] proposed a three-dimensional spatial motion measurement method for a robotic end effector utilizing binocular vision.…”

“…Plane dimensional measurement of large workpieces is realized, and accuracy is improved by 53% [15]. Zhou et al proposed a binocular vision measurement method based on the internal collaboration of cameras, which achieves accurate dimensional measurement of objects by accumulating the number of pixels, and the relative measurement error is less than 3.5% [16]. Chen et al proposed a workpiece positioning algorithm based on Zenik moment and angle matching, combined with epipolar-geometry and the invariance of cross-ratio (CMEC), and A high-precision measurement method based on binocular vision is designed to realize the measurement of the length and dimension of the workpiece [17].…”

“…Constrained by complex operating environments affected by various weather conditions, a single sensor solution is not capable of fully describing the environment information required for a safe and reliable operation of automatic electric shovels. To overcome these issues, multiple sensors, such as LiDAR, inertial navigation and RTK, can be implemented to work coherently to provide enriched data information [ 22 , 23 , 24 , 25 , 26 ].…”
