Abstract:Α green and sustainable metal‐free photochemical protocol for the atom transfer radical addition (ATRA) of carbon tetrabromide onto alkenes was developed. Phenylglyoxylic acid was employed as the photoinitiator to promote the water‐mediated anti‐Markovnikov photochemical addition.
