A Method for the Analysis of Interference from DME to ATCRBS in the Time Domain

Abstract: Analysis of the coexistence of two or more types of equipment is increasingly important. However, at present studies on the analysis method in the time domain are scant. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to explore the characteristics of signals and relations between interfering and desired signals in the time domain. Based on the periodicity of a signal, this paper presents a Periodic Pulse Overlap Method (PPOM). Using PPOM to analyze the interference from Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) to Air Traffic C… Show more

“…On the basis of statistical models for the path loss and LoS probability, and a cross-layer analytical model for the latency and power consumption, an optimization framework is developed to achieve near-optimal power conservation Following the analysis technique used in [40], an expression for p ov l ′ ,m ′ is obtained in (50).…”

“…4, interference would occur between two co-channel cells when the data transmission periods (represented by the 'on' state of the duty cycles) overlap. Since the occurrence of such overlapping transmissions can be found in a deterministic manner [40], the robustness of the sub-links can be ensured by altering the operating parameters such as the transmit power or the MCS index. These parameters can be obtained apriori through a heuristic algorithm based on a combination of power and rate control that maintains a low outage probability.…”

“…Thus, to protect radar from interference, the interference signal should not exceed a certain power level relative to the receiver noise. In this study, we used an IPC of I/N = −6 dB as in other literatures [8], [22]. An interference signal that exceeds an IPC will degrade the radar performance in terms of the maximum detection range or detection probability.…”
