And a new structure system named mega-sub controlled structure (MSCS) was proposed (Zhang et al, 2004a and b) [2,3], which is constructed by applying the structural control principle and form a new structure with obvious response self-control ability. The substructures in the MSCS have analogous tuned mass damper (TMD) function which convert the MSCS into a huge, self-controlled system that is capable of developing very high control energy to control the responses induced in the MSCS by these horizontal stimulation, such as winds and earthquakes.…”
