“…Economopoulos in 2010 suggested a methodology for developing strategic municipal solid waste management plans. Chalkias and Lasaridi already since 2011 stressed the benefits from GIS-based modelling for MSW management, while Economopoulou et al (2013), discussed about a system capable of formulating alternative MSW management plans meeting certain constraints set by local communities and authorities.
