A model driven approach for context-aware services development

Abstract: Nowadays, context-awareness constitutes an essential aspect for service oriented applications development. Indeed, applications are supposed to react to context changes in order to provide end-users with pertinent services. To deal with such requirement, Context-Aware Service (CAS) has emerged as an underlying software engineering paradigm for context-aware applications development. In this paper, we present a model driven approach that highlights the fundamental contextawareness challenges for CAS development… Show more

“…This aspect model specifies the behaviors linked to the context model. (Hafiddi, Baidouri, Nassar, & Kriouile, 2012) proposed an architecture called ACAS to facilitate the development of Context-Aware Service Oriented Systems (CASOS). The ACAS architecture is composed of five layers: 1-Services Layer: designed using an extension of SoaML (Omg, soaml, 2012); 2-Context management layer: Deals with specification, representation and acquisition of context.…”

“…There is a growing body of research on context meta-models (Boukadi, 2009;Monfort & Hammoudi, 2009;Vale & Hammoudi, 2009;Sheng & Benatallah, 2005;Hafiddi et al, 2012;Wada et al, 2005;Achilleos, Yang, & Georgalas, 2010). Our meta-model is mainly distinguished from the studied works by the use of the ServiceContextElement which contains all context parameters responsible for the adaptation of a given Service.…”
