A model for electro-optic response of slow-light silicon photonic modulators with lumped electrodes

Abstract: We present an analytical model to predict the electro-optic bandwidth of lumped slow-light modulators. The model predictions are in good agreement with experiments. It is shown that the modulators' speed is restricted not only by the RC constant but also by a dynamic interaction time.
