A Model for Medical/Educational Assessment of Handicapped Children in Rural and Remote Areas: American Samoa

Abstract: Procedures for medical/educational assessment of severely/profoundly handicapped children in a rural area are discussed. Special attention is given to the aspects of full cooperation between the medical and educational team members. Methods for including local medical and educational personnel are discussed as well as a sample case study.
