A Modified Hair-Pin Resonator for the Design of Compact Bandpass Filter With Suppression of Even Harmonics

Abstract: Abstract-A new design consideration is explored for a hair-pin resonator. A grounding via at the mid-point of the resonator acts as a perturbation to split the resonant frequencies. The via also suppresses even harmonics of the fundamental. The principle operation of the hair-pin resonator with a via is analyzed and verified by measurement. It is shown that such a hair-pin resonator can be made more compact using stepped impedance line. A compact 4-pole bandpass filter using the modified compact hair-pin reson… Show more

“…This divergence is due to both economic (European Commission, (2011) and noneconomic such as cultural factors (Hofstede, 2001;Lee et al, 2012;Sherer et al, 2011). Accordingly to the European Commission ( 2011), the Gross-Value Added (GVA) produced by SMEs in 2010 in Scandinavian (Denmark and Sweden) had an higher GVA than in Iberian region (Portugal and Spain).…”

“…First, although our study shows evidence that ERP post-adoption importance varies across-regions in association with the number of years using ERP and that cultural factors are associated, we cannot speak empirically about the issue of whether the maturity stages play a role, nor on the effect of regions' culture on ERP. An interesting different direction could be to study the maturity stages of ERP (Holland & Light, 2001), as well as culture influences on ERP post-adoption (Lee et al, 2012;Sherer et al, 2011). Second, although data cover several commercial ERP products, we cannot speak empirically on the issue of different products having different operating characteristics and environments, and the factors related to ERP post-adoption may differ.…”

“…However all these reported filters have narrow bandwidth. Further to improve the bandwidth multimode resonators, coupled line structures and hairpin resonators have been proposed in [6][7][8]. But all these filters have larger footprint.…”

“…The new resonator filter design does not use defected ground structure and coplanar-waveguide structure. This new resonator design is an on-going effort following the resonator structures from our previous work on dual mode resonator [10] and triple-mode resonator [11].…”
