Abstract: A morphometric assessment of transitional mucosa in the colon Quantitative morphometric analysis was used in 10 resection specimens to assess so-called transitional mucosa immediately adjacent to colorectal carcinoma. Eleven nuclear and cellular variables were measured from the malignant epithelial area and from zones of increasing distance (lcm) from the lesion.
