“…LCF was based on XANES (EXAFS) of the experimental reference materials collected at the same beam, DUBBLE: Ce 2 (CO 3 ) 3 , CeO 2 , Ce(OH) 4 , FeOOH, Fe 2 O 3 , FeO, FeCO 3 , Fe(II)/Fe(III) oxide. Owing to the complex structure of the composites, Feff.inp files were generated using theoretical crystallography data of several relevant compounds: Ce 2 (CO 3 ) 3 Á 8H 2 O [25], CeO 2 [26], CeCO 3 (OH) [27], Fe 2 (CO 3 )(OH) 2 [28], Ce(OH) SO 4 [29], bernalite Fe(OH) 3 [30], Fe 2 O 3 (b-iron oxide) [31], a-Fe 2 O 3 (hematite) [32], b-FeOOH (akaganeite) [31], FeO [31], FeCO 3 (siderite) [31], Fe 3 O 4 (magnetite) [31], and Fe(II)/Fe(III) green rust [32]. The paths were plotted together with the experimental spectra, carefully considered and selected for the final fits.…”
