A multicentric, placebo‐controlled, double‐blind clinical trial of β‐sitosterol (phytosterol) for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia

Abstract

Objective To report the results of a double-blind, placebofor example from species of Pinus, Picea or Hypoxis, with b-sitosterol as the main component. controlled trial to evaluate AzuprostatA , a b-sitosterol, in patients with symptoms of outlet obstruction causedResults There were significant (P<0.01) improvements over placebo in those treated with b-sitosterol; the by benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
