Abstract: The purpose of this article is to review the scientific literature concerning speech in Parkinson’s disease (PD) with reference to the DIVA/GODIVA neurocomputational modeling framework. Within this theoretical view, the basal ganglia (BG) contribute to several different aspects of speech motor learning and execution.
