Abstract:In critical systems (e.g. for core airplane functions), codes should both never fail, in particular they should be robust to numerical instabilities, and, they should reuse certified routines.Yet, the combination of this two constraints is often an issue. For example, the interior-point algorithms for linear programming have higher complexity than expected when requiring simultaneously numerical robustness and no custom routines.Instead, this paper presents a new algorithm, which has good time complexity even … Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
