Abstract-Software product line approach has been successfully adopted in various software domains. In some fields, single SPLs are no longer sufficient to fulfill their requirements due to the large variability amount they include. Consequently, a set of separated SPLs is built to handle this issue and construct what is known by Multi Product Lines (MPL). However, the emergence of MPLs results in several challenges, namely: managing the reuse between SPLs, structuring the MPL model and distributed derivation. In this paper, we propose a new approach for SPLs composition. Our approach relies on two main concepts: the separation of concerns and the partial derivation. It is validated in the context of an eLearning MPL and an illustration is explained throughout the paper. The results show that our approach helps systemizing reuse within MPLs and structuring the MPL model. Moreover, SPLs are integrated early in the development process avoiding thus the distributed derivation challenges.

Systems like e-voting, e-banking or e-health must offer flexibility to continuously meet technical and legal changing requirements and must at the same time guarantee robustness to respect their security and sensitivity. Component Based Software Engineering (CBSE) and Service Oriented Software Engineering (SOSE) with their modular design represent the most suitable paradigms for those systems. They have strong complementary advantages, despite their similarities, their heterogeneity still hinders systems to benefit from both of them. In this paper, we propose a hybrid framework HACS (Hybrid Approach between Component and Service). HACS proposes to define sensitive systems as a hybrid architecture where the critical parts are controlled according to CBSE coupled to the flexibility and dynamism of SOSE. To address heterogeneity and make possible the substitution between hybrid components, HACS uses a common syntax with semantic annotations based on SAWSDL related to two ontologies; HACS ontology and domain ontology. We illustrate HACS all along the paper through an e-voting case study.

Purpose -The purpose of this paper is to develop the model of telemetry data processing flow (TDPF) for TDPF development and the TDPF run-time infrastructure to improve the spacecraft health monitoring capability. Design/methodology/approach -This research tries to develop the TDPF by flow-based programming (FBP) method and the component-based telemetry data processing software. Findings -The result from the case study is positive, thus reflecting the appropriateness of the suggested method. Practical implications -Application of the proposed TDPF model and the component-based telemetry data processing software may result in improved development efficiency and less development costs. Originality/value -This paper provides an effective way to develop TDPF without recompiling the software. It greatly facilitates the TDPF development that hopefully will save the TDPF development cost.
