A new dibromotyrosine-derived metabolite from the sponge Psammalplysilla purpurea

Abstract: A new dibromo tyrosine-derived metabolite N- ({3,5-dibromo-4-[3-(methylamino) propoxy]phenyl}ethyl) carbamic acid methyl ester (1) and a known dibromotyrosine derivative purpuramine-L (2) have been isolated from the Indian marine sponge Psammalplysilla purpurea. The structure of the compound was established by interpretation of their spectral data. Psammalplysilla purpurea, propoxy]phenyl} ethyl) carbamic acid methyl ester (1), purpuramine-L (2) Keywords:

“…426 A bromotyrosine derived carbamic acid methyl ester 409 was isolated from Psammaplysilla purpurea (Southern India). 427 11-N-Methylmoloka'iamine 410, 11-N-cyano-11methylmoloka'iamine 411 and kuchinoenamine 412, all with antibacterial activity against the fish pathogen Aeromonas hydrophila, were obtained from a Hexadella species (Japan). 428 A FOXO1a inhibition assay was used to isolate psammaplysenes A 413 and B 414 from a Psammaplysilla species (Indian Ocean), 429 while in a separate paper, the syntheses are reported.…”
