A New Disease Concept in the Age of Processed Foods—Phosphorus-Burden Disease; including CKD–MBD Concrete Analysis and the Way to Solution

Abstract: In 2012, the Japanese Society for Dialysis Therapy (JSDT) established the order of correction of P, corrected Ca (cCa), and whole PTH (w-PTH) in the treatment of Chronic Kidney Disease-Metabolic Bone Disorder (CKD-MBD) as P-first. However, there is no report that analyzes whether this rule is in line with reality and what the adequate rate of P is. Therefore, we analyzed the test values of our 48 patients during the year of 2019 and examined the validity of the results. The results showed that the adequate ran… Show more

“…Foodstuff additives must comply with rigorous safety tests to determine their possible adverse impacts on human health, following national and international guiding principles [142,143]. Vascular pathology is often instigated using dyslipidemia and hyperphosphatemia [144][145][146]. Statins have been reported globally for their effective management of dyslipidemia [147][148][149], whereas there are still no appropriate therapeutic options for treating hyperphosphatemia [150,151].…”

“…Our study aims to demonstrate the impact of a diet low in processed foods [ 32 ] with a low content of inorganic phosphates [ 33 ] and phosphate binder drug administration on phosphatemia and implicitly on the prognosis of stage 5 CKD patients with hemodialysis. To achieve this, we used qualitative methods to explore the CKD patients’ adherence to MNT and quantitative ones—corresponding laboratory parameter measurements and analyzing their evolution.…”
