“…23 Kasai et al 23 suggested that the PLET was highly reproducible; however, a formal reliability coefficient was not reported. 23 Finally, Porterfield and DeRosa 38 described a test to detect excessive lumbar intervertebral motion. During this test, the subject's response to a posterior-toanterior (PA) pressure applied to the lumbar spine is compared between a neutral and an extended spine position (FIGURES 4 and 5).…”

“…The PLET is 84% sensitive and 90% specific in detecting radiological instability. 23 Recently, Alqarni et al 1 concluded that the PLET was currently the preferred clinical test to detect LSI. 23 Kasai et al 23 suggested that the PLET was highly reproducible; however, a formal reliability coefficient was not reported.…”

“…8 Two special tests for lumbar spine instability were performed: the prone instability test 37 and the passive lumbar extension test. 1,42 A posterior/anterior lumbar spring test 48 was performed at each spinal level. Two strength tests, the active sit-up and active bilateral straight leg raise tests, were administered.…”
