Abstract:Functional genomics research on indica rice is often hindered by its long growth cycle and recalcitrance to genetic transformation. Therefore, there is an urgent need for Arabidopsis‐like indica rice varieties that have a high efficiency in genetic transformation, in order to facilitate functional genomics research. Here, we report the development of a new indica variety, named 6–23, which has a significantly short growth cycle and can be used as an indica model system. 6–23 is a recombinant inbred line (RIL) … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
