A New Iterative Algorithm Based on Correction of Sensitivity Matrix for Electrical Resistance Tomography

Abstract: Electrical resistance tomography (ERT) is used to reconstruct the resistance/conductivity distribution. Usually, a uniform distribution is assumed as the initial condition to obtain a generic sensitivity matrix, which may be very different from a theoretical sensitivity matrix, resulting in a large error. The aim of this study is to analyse the difference between a generalized sensitivity matrix and a theoretical sensitivity matrix and to improve image reconstruction. The effect of the generic sensitivity matr… Show more

“…Chen et al. enhanced the quality of the image by iteratively correcting the sensitivity matrix deviation, albeit at the expense of heightened computational demands [ 32 ]. The integration of two prior pieces of information for sensitivity matrix generation yields a well-balanced and robust performance, but the observed improvement in reconstruction results is not substantial [ 33 ].…”

“…Correcting the sensitivity matrix using existing information has proven effective in enhancing reconstruction accuracy, as demonstrated by the use of a redundant sensitivity matrix for improved results [31]. Chen et al enhanced the quality of the image by iteratively correcting the sensitivity matrix deviation, albeit at the expense of heightened computational demands [32]. The integration of two prior pieces of information for sensitivity matrix generation yields a well-balanced and robust performance, but the observed improvement in reconstruction results is not substantial [33].…”
