A New Library Program for Texture Calculations

Abstract: A new library program which allows the calculation and storage of the numerical tables necessary for a three-dimensional texture analysis is proposed. Its main characteristics are: possibility of selecting the values to be stored according to the desired microscopic and macroscopic symmetries as well as to the step of exploration of the pole figures; possibility of choosing the quantity of information to be stored for obtaining, in the further threedimensional analysis, a good agreement between the computing t… Show more

“…The program is written in Fortran IV. * The ordinogram is exactly the same as for the previous version (Wagner et al, 1977) except that to the input parameter LMAX, IDN, IDM must be added the parameters LMIN and LP as defined in the previous section. So the organization of the program is preserved with the two main possibilities: (i) storage of the QT'" coefficients and of the symmetry function kf(hi) and additionally the symmetry coefficients BT'" if cubic symmetry is required;…”

“…Within option (ii) it is always possible to generate a "standard library' (Wagner et al, 1977) adapted to the published programs of texture analysis for cubicorthorhombic symmetries (Jura, Pospiech & Bunge, 1974, 1976, working only with even I. To obtain this 'standard library' it is necessary to reduce the size of the arrays XK and BB of the actual version to respectively XK (16,3,8) and BB (16,3,9) as in the previous publication.…”
