In particular, unraveling the complexes of so‐called “cryptic” species accounts for a major part of the new species descriptions in recent years from Sundaland (e.g., Arifin et al, 2018; Dehling et al, 2016; Hamidy & Matsui, 2014; Hamidy et al, 2012; Matsui et al, 2010, 2016; McLeod, 2010; McLeod et al, 2012; Munir et al, 2018; Shimada et al, 2011; Waser et al, 2017). Alongside this hidden sphere of amphibian diversity, unexpected discoveries of completely new frog species (with obviously distinct morphology and life history) were also reported in Borneo during the last decade (e.g., Ansonia vidua, Hertwig et al, 2014; Chiromantis inexpectatus, Matsui et al, 2014; Glyphoglossus capsus, Das et al, 2014).…”
