A New Moving Kirchhoff–Love Plate Element for Dynamic Analysis of Vehicle–Pavement Interaction

Abstract: A new moving Kirchhoff-Love plate element is developed in this work to accurately and efficiently calculate the dynamic response of vehicle-pavement interaction. Since the vehicle can only affect a small region nearby, the wide pavement is reduced to a small reduced plate area around the vehicle. The vehicle loads moving along an arbitrary trajectory is considered, and the arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian method is used here for coordinate conversion. The reduced plate area is spatially discretized using the curr… Show more

“…Literature [19] most of China's bridges were built in the 1990s; scientific inspection and damage assessment of old bridges to fully understand the actual condition of old bridges can provide a basis for the economical and reliable use of existing bridges to avoid catastrophic accidents. In literature [20], the dynamic vehicle load, as an important variable load on existing bridges, has parameters that change with time during the service life of the bridge, showing the characteristics of a stochastic process. This paper studies the optimization algorithm to solve the optimization method of bridge vehicle load dynamic detection.…”
