A new rational algorithm for view updating in relational databases

Abstract: Abstract. The dynamics of belief and knowledge is one of the major components of any autonomous system that should be able to incorporate new pieces of information. In order to apply the rationality result of belief dynamics theory to various practical problems, it should be generalized in two respects: first it should allow a certain part of belief to be declared as immutable; and second, the belief state need not be deductively closed. Such a generalization of belief dynamics, referred to as base dynamics, i… Show more

“…We begin by recalling previous work on view deletion. Chandrabose [6,7] and Delhibabu [34,35,36], defines a contraction and revision operator in view deletion with respect to a set of formulae or sentences using Hansson's [54] belief change. Similar to our approach, he focused on set of formulae or sentences in knowledge base revision for view update wrt.…”

“…Massive knowledge representation and management is emerged as a challengeable issue in big data era. Managing and storing knowledge in traditional databases [24]- [26] could no longer fulfill the increasing requirements of dealing with massive data. There are number of projects (e.g., [27], [28]) have been developed as an alternative to traditional database systems.…”

“…In the mining of data, the optimized space-time indexing algorithm is usually used to make the mining effect better. The algorithm uses the multidimensional indexing technique to transform the index to the spatiotemporal dimension, and realize the establishment and improvement of the space-time index [9].…”
