A new Roman Period burial ground of the Przeworsk culture from Pakoszówka (the Upper San River basin)

Abstract: The article concerns the discovery of the new Przeworsk culture burial ground, which is only the second known burial site from the Upper San River basin, beside of necropolis located in Prusiek site 25. The site 33 in Pakoszówka was excavated completely during field works carried out between 2015-2018. “…Znalezisko dobrze wpisuje się w obraz, jaki zarysował się w ostatnich latach w rezultacie szeregu odkryć na górze Wroczeń, i potwierdza szczególną rolę tego wzniesienia jako miejsca deponowania gromadnych skarbów i pojedynczych przedmiotów co najmniej od późnej epoki brązu (Blajer et al 2022, 202, 204, 209) do okresu lateńskiego (Bochnak, Kotowicz 2015;Bochnak, Kotowicz, Opielewska 2017). Warto też wspomnieć, iż w dolnej partii jednego z jego południowo-zachodnich stoków odkryto cmentarzysko ciałopalne kultury przeworskiej z młodszego okresu wpływów rzymskich (Bulas, Kotowicz, Okońska 2019).
