A New Small Satellite Sunspot Triggering Recurrent Standard and Blowout Coronal Jets

Abstract: In this paper, we report a detailed analysis of recurrent jets originated from a location with emerging, canceling and converging negative magnetic field at the east edge of NOAA active region AR11166 from 2011 March 09 to 10. The event presented several interesting features. First, a satellite sunspot appeared and collided with a pre-existing opposite polarity magnetic field and caused a recurrent solar jet event. Second, the evolution of the jets showed blowout-like nature and standard characteristics. Third… Show more

“…According to the twin CME model of Shen et al (2012), a single blow-out jet drags two CMEs in the solar atmosphere as jet-like CME and bubble-like CME. This model is supported by many observational events (e.g., Alzate and Morgan, 2016;Miao et al, 2018Miao et al, , 2019Solanki et al, 2019;Duan et al, 2019). The study, observations, and analysis of these coupled events (Jet and CME) can give better insight to understand the multi-scale eruptive phenomena in the solar atmosphere and their relation in the interplanetary space.…”

“…This miniature version of the mini-filament eruption produces jets likewise as the large filament eruption produces coronal mass ejections (CMEs). Sometimes, the large-scale plasma motions in the form of reconnection driven jets also form the coronal mass ejections (CMEs) in the outer solar atmosphere (e.g., Shen et al, 2012;Alzate and Morgan, 2016;Miao et al, 2018Miao et al, , 2019Solanki et al, 2019;Duan et al, 2019).…”

“…Finally, the reconnection in the internal current sheet further results in the full eruption of the mini-filament and the formation of the broad bubble-like CME, during which the erupting filament material forms the jet's cool component. Recently, more and more observations have evidenced the appearance of paired narrow and broad CMEs in association with on-disc blowout jets [155,239,243,253,254], and the phenomenological model of Shen et al [63] provides a possible explanation for these observations; however, further observational and numerical investigation is required to confirm this scenario.…”
