A New Species Agrocybe striatipes, also a Newly Commercially Cultivated Mushroom with Highly Nutritional and Healthy Values

Abstract: The species of Agrocybe (Strophariaceae, Agaricales, Agaricomycetes) are saprophytic and widely distributed in temperate regions. In this study, a new species named Agrocybe striatipes from China is described, which has been successfully cultivated in China recently. The phenotypic characteristics examination and molecular phylogenetic analyses using multilocus data (ITS and nrLSU) both support it as a new species in the genus Agrocybe. Moreover, nutritional ingredient analysis showed that the fruiting body of… Show more

“…The peaks were recorded at retention times 10.42, 14.11, 17.04, 19.56, 21.80, 23.66, 25.69, 28.56, 30.38, 33.57, 36.73, 40.57, and 42.55, and revealed the presence of 5-methyl-1-heptanol, 4-nonene, 3-methyl-, (Z)-, 1-hexadecanol, 2-heptadecenal, 10-heneicosene (c,t), phthalic acid, butyl hept-4-yl ester, 2-dodecanol, 9H-carbazole-1-carboxylic acid, 4-(1H-indol-3-yl)-, methyl ester, 2-dodecanol, 9H-carbazole-1-carboxylic acid, 4-(1H-indol-3-yl)-, methyl ester, ethanol, 2-(methylamino)-, benzoic acid, TMS derivative, acetamide, 2,2,2-trifluoro, 7-hydroxy-7,8,9,10-tetramethyl-7, 8-dihydrocyclohepta[d,e] naphthale, and pyrazolo [1,5-a]pyridine, 3-methyl-2-phenyl. The present results are in accordance with the findings of Li et al [27] who evaluated the nutritional and health properties of Agrocybe striatipes.…”

“…Edible macrofungi from the Agrocybe genus, such as A. aegerita , have increasingly become a significant component of daily diets and health supplements (Li et al 2023 ). The bioactive compounds extracted from the fruiting bodies of these mushrooms are recognised for their high safety profile.…”

“…Cadmium (Cd), arsenic (As), and copper (Cu) have been identified as the most widespread HM contaminants in the region. The Cd limit of morel was 0.6 mg kg −1 , and As limit was 0.5 mg kg −1 according to GB 2762-2022 in China [19]. The escalation of soil HM contamination has led to HM contamination of morels in some areas, as exemplified by HM content testing of 59 batches of morels in Qianxinan, Guizhou, where Cd exceeded the limit by 33.9% and chromium by 1.7% [20].…”
