“…The lizard fauna in Pakistan belongs to eight families naming; Agamidae, Chamaeleonidae, Eublepharidae, Gekkonidae, Lacertidae Scincidae, Uromastycidae, and Varanidae (Khan, 2000). The number shows a steady increase from (Minton, 1962(Minton, , 1966 65 species, Merten's (1969), Khan (1980), to Khan (1999), 101 species and subspecies, belonging to 35 genera (Khan, 1999) Ptyodactylus which is the only recorded species of this genus from Pakistan, which was recorded from western Kirthar Range in northwestern Sindh in 1876 by Blanford, since there is no subsequent record of this species from Pakistan, largely because of the absence of collection from this area. The Northern Areas of Pakistan are at the boundary between the Palearctic and the Oriental biogeographical realms.…”
