“…Furthermore, pomegranate and EA may provide anticancer activity via enhancing the apoptotic protein related pathways including Bax, p53, cyt-c, caspase 3, caspase 9, caspase 8, Nrf2, GSK-3β, PARP cleavage, and Bax/Bcl-2 ratio, which induce cell cytotoxicity, and G1 and S-phases cell cycle arrest. There are many studies shown that pomegranate and EA are able to exert their anti-cancer effects by decreasing the levels of cell proliferation, β-catenin, JAK2, STAT3, MAPK, PKB, PI 3 K, Cyclin D1, MMP (Abbasi et al, 2017;Askari, Alavinezhad, & Boskabady, 2016;Askari, Baradaran Rahimi, et al, 2018a), NF-κB, COX-2, Bcl-2, and mTOR signaling pathways. All together, we wish to this review benefits the researchers for designing and evaluating the potential protective effects and utilization in the future further studies.…”

“…In the past decades, focuses on the medicinal plants and their isolated compounds have been propagated due to the increased tendency of patients to the herbal medicines. In addition, more than half of the anticancer drugs were isolated from natural sources such as plants, microorganisms, and aquatic resources (Abbasi et al, ; Askari et al, ; Askari, Baradaran Rahimi, et al, ). Punica granatum (pomegranate) belongs to the Punicaceae , which has been used for several medical purposes from ancient and in different cultures.…”

“…One study used a herbal formula from TCM containing O. japonicus in mice models with house dust mite-induced AD (18), which differs from human AD (23). Studies of the efficacy of natural extracts on atopic children (14,24,25), have mostly been carried out in children, since they are more prone to AD than adults. The current study aimed to develop an active ingredient that could help both children and adults with mild-to-moderate AD.…”

“…The current study aimed to develop an active ingredient that could help both children and adults with mild-to-moderate AD. To evaluate the long-term relief, active efficacy was assessed during a 2-month period of application, which was considered to be a more relevant time-frame when focusing on the remission phase than shorter periods mentioned elsewhere (14,24,25).…”

“…The tubes were then quickly cooled and the developed color was read at 760 nm using a MultiSpec UV-Vis spectrophotometer (Shimadzu, Tokyo, Japan). Estimation of phenolic compounds was carried out regarding polyphenol reference calibration curve of the ethanolic solution of Gallic acid (GA) in a range of 0.5 to 10 mg/L (Rover and Brown, 2013[ 48 ]; Abbasi et al, 2017[ 1 ]; Baradaran Rahimi et al, 2019[ 16 ]). The amount of TPC was measured regarding mg of GA equivalent (GAE) per gram of dry extract.…”
