A novel alkali-surfactant for optimization of filtercake removal in oil–gas well

Abstract: The main objective of this study is to improve the oil-based filtercake removal at the wellbore second interface through chemical method. The reductions in near-well permeability, bonding strength at wellbore second interface and acidizing treatment are the critical problems in oilfield upstream operations. One of the major causes has been identified as drilling fluid filtrate invasion during the drilling operations. This as result leads to near-well reduction in-flow capacity due to high drawdown pressure and… Show more

“…The variety of wear is caused by the action of an aggressive environment, the complex composition of oil (Table 1), and the influence of inhibitors (SNPH-7909, SNPH-7941, SNPH-7963, FLEC IP-106, and RT-1M) on metal products at the atomic level. The study of the types of RDP failures is required to establish a causal relationship between the failures, the types of defects, and the composition of the oil [11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18]. To identify the factors affecting the operation of the RDP, basic studies of the compositions of 8 oils, 1 asphalt-resin-paraffin deposit (ARPD), and 11 reservoir waters were carried out.…”

“…From the structural point of view, they exhibit both a hydrophobic tail with one or several hydrocarbon chains (saturated or unsaturated fatty acids), and a hydrophilic head with one or several polar groups (such as carbohydrates, peptides and amino acids) (Alwadani & Fatehi, 2018;Samsu, et al, 2021). Furthermore, they are classified in three main groups: nonionic, anionic and cationic surfactants (Cheng, et al, 2020;Lichinga, et al, 2022).…”
