Abstract:This paper presents a new method for extracting orthogonal bases from AM-FM signals. Since AM-FM signals are non-stationary, ap propriate basis functions are sought provided that instantaneous fre quency can be defined meaningfully. With respect to the intrinsic structure of AM-FM signals, these bases should be in generalized exponential format. Expansion by such bases is known as gener alized Fourier expansion. So the oscillating modes embedded in signal would be extracted efficiently. In contrast to exiting … Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
