A novel heart‐shaped monopole antenna for UWB and RFID applications

Abstract: In this article, a heart‐shaped monopole antenna with wide bandwidth is proposed, which is composed of a heart‐shaped monopole patch and two rectangular ground plane, both of the structures are printed on the same side of a substrate and fed by a coplanar waveguide. The simulated and experimental results demonstrate that the proposed antenna performance is not only suitable for ultra wideband applications but also for radio‐frequency identification systems, the impedance bandwidth can be achieved from 2.1 to 1… Show more

“…A novel broken heart shape antenna with a compact dimension of 30 × 18 × 1.60 mm 3 only is proposed in this article, which is significantly smaller than the antenna presented in Refs. . The result shows that the proposed antenna achieves a bandwidth from 2.90 GHz to 10.70 GHz, which can be used for the UWB applications.…”

“…With the rapid development of wireless communication, the multifrequency antenna has become one of the most important devices and attracted much interest. Recently, some schemes about printed antennas for RFID applications have been reported [1][2][3]. A few antenna designs suitable for the applications of both WLAN and WiMAX have been reported [4][5][6][7].…”
