A Novel Polymeric Lead(II)‐Azido Compound: Synthesis, Structural Characterization, and DFT Calculations of [Pb(dmp)(N3)2]n

Abstract: A novel 1D PbII coordination polymer containing Pb2‐(μ‐N3)2 unit [Pb(dmp)(N3)2]n (dmp =  2,9‐dimethyl‐1,10‐phenanthroline) has been prepared and characterized. Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction analyses show that the coordination number for PbII ions is six, PbN6, with “stereochemically active” electron lone pairs and the coordination sphere being hemidirected. The single‐crystal X‐ray data show the chains interact with each other through the π–π stacking interactions, which create a 3D framework. The structure… Show more

“…1. The coordination number of each Pb(II)-atoms in 1 is eight; each Pb(II) is coordinated to Scheme 2 Materials produced and synthetic methods [29][30][31][32][33]. Thus, the geometry of the nearest coordination environment of each lead atom is most likely caused by the geometrical constraint of the coordinated tpmba ligand, nitrate anions and the influence of a stereo-chemically active lone pair of electrons in hybrid orbital on the metal atom.…”

“…To isolate single crystals of {[Pb(phen)(μ-CH 3 COO)][PF 6 ]} n (1), 1,10-phenanthroline (0.20 g, 1 mmol) was placed in one arm of a branched tube, [19] and Pb(CH 3 COO) 2 ·3H 2 O (0.38 g, 1 mmol) and potassium hexafluorophosphate (0.20 g, 1 mmol) were placed in the other. Methanol was carefully added to fill both arms, the tube was sealed, and the ligand-containing arm was immersed in a bath at 60°C.…”

“…[13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20] Recently, we reported on several lead(II) coordination polymers and synthesized some nano-lead(II) coordination compounds by sonochemical methods. [13][14][15][19][20][21] As a continuation of previous studies, we now investigate the strong halogen www.zaac.wiley-vch.de ARTICLE interactions of hexafluorophosphate anions in lead(II) coordination polymer, and report on the 1D lead(II) nanoflower coordination system with the 1,10-phenanthroline ligand. We describe a simple synthetic heat gradient preparation of a single crystal structure of this compound and its use in the preparation of PbO nanoparticles.…”

“…Following our previous works on development of novel methods for synthesis of coordination polymers of lead(II) [13,[30][31][32][33][34][35][36][37][38], in this paper we report the new asymmetrical hemidirected lead(II) coordination compound in the presence of (1-(pyridin-2-yl)ethylidene)isonicotinohydrazide schiff-base ligand. The work presented here, describes a simple synthetic sonochemical method for preparation of nano-structures of this coordination polymer and its use in the preparation of PbO nanoparticles.…”
