A Novel Strategy for the Synthesis of Sheet‐Like Polyaniline

Abstract: Polyaniline (PANI) micro/nanosheets are successfully synthesized by a template-free method without using any conventional oxidants. Scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and FT-IR spectroscopy are applied to characterize the products. By investigating the morphologies and chemical structures of the PANI micro/nanosheets, a possible formation mechanism is proposed. In addition, the influences of experimental parameters, such as the kind of dopant, concentration of aniline, and acidity … Show more

“…In XRD patterns of different samples two broad peaks are observed at 2θ ˜ 20° and 25° (Figure 7). The peak centered at 2θ ∼ 20° is ascribed to periodicity parallel to the polymer chain, while the latter is due to the periodicity perpendicular to the polymer chain 38. The doping increases crystallite size.…”

“…4.1 PANI nanofibers obtained from micellar media PANI has been largely prepared as nanofiber with the use of polymerization media containing organic acids that acts as surfactants (Zhang et al, 2002;Qiu et al, 2001;Do Nascimento et al, 2006;Zhang et al, 2009). A broad variety of organic acid has been employed in order to modulate the diameter of the resulting nanofibers.…”

“…However, in the XRD pattern of fumaric acid-doped PANI, two broad bands centered at 21 and 24.8 as reported before [39] and three acute absorption peaks, observed at 2u = 22.74 , 28.72 , 29.32 , represent its partially crystalline structure. The acute peaks at 2u = 22.74 and 28.72 are ascribed to the periodicity parallel and perpendicular to the polymer chains of PANI, respectively [40], different from the typical broad reflections of the HCl-doped PANI at around 19.2 and 26 [41]. Its crystallinity of 27.75% according to the calculation indicates that the dopant of fumaric acid improved the PANI crystallinity.…”
