“…27 The midpoint transverse process to pleura (MTP), subtransverse process interligamentary plane (STIL), costotransverse foramen plane (CTF), and the multiple injection costotransverse (MIC) blocks achieved weak or no consensus on naming (51%, 18%, 25%, and 26%, respectively). [28][29][30][31] Comments suggested that they all carried similarities in terms of the anatomical location of injection, and it was therefore proposed that they be harmonized into a single new name, the intertransverse process (ITP) block, for consideration in the second round. The rhomboid intercostal subserratus block had no consensus (46%) and it was suggested that this was better presented as a single-injection approach, with the name reflecting this.…”

“…Conceptually, it is midway between an ESP block and a true thoracic paravertebral block in terms of needle‐tip location. Since its description, there have been several publications of identical block techniques with different names, including: the multiple‐injection costotransverse block [99]; the costotransverse notch (or foramen) block [100]; and the subtransverse process interligamentary plane block [101] (Table 1). Some of these have been characterised as variants of the ESP block, but they all involve injection into the intertransverse tissue complex [13], with minor differences in described landmarks for block performance.…”

“…Indeed the injection of anesthetic between ITL and SCTL has been described by some papers, and I have already commented on the opportunity to label it with a specific name (as Kilicaslan e t al. did in their paper) as subtransverse process interligamentary (STIL) plane block 2–4…”
