‘A Physically Active Experience’: Setting the Stage for a New Approach to Engage Children in Physical Activity Using Themed Entertainment Experiences

Abstract: This research presents a novel way to engage children in physical activity using a themed entertainment and experience-driven approach.By focusing on the experience provided and enjoyable and engaging physical activity session can be provided for children, this is done through providing a sense of escapism, creating an aesthetically pleasing environment, incorporating education and making it entertaining.
