“…One previously included study was excluded for the purposes of this review (Grey 2011), as it combined data with another study already included in this review and would inflate the results if included. Therefore, in total there are 60 included papers and 47 included studies (Allen 1998; Ambrosino 2008; Antonini 2014; Askins 2009; Barakat 2010; Barry 1997; Celano 2012; Connelly 2006; Duarte 2006; Ellis 2004; Ellis 2005; Ellis 2012; Gulewitsch 2013; Hicks 2006; Hoekstra-Weebers 1998; Kashikar-Zuck 2005; Kashikar-Zuck 2012; Kazak 2004; Laffel 2003; Lask 1979; Lehmkuhl 2010; Levy 2010; Marsland 2013; Mullins 2012; Naar-King 2014; Nansel 2009; Nansel 2012; Ng 2008; Niebel 2000; Olivares 1997; Palermo 2009; Robins 2005; Sahler 2002; Sahler 2005; Sahler 2013; Sanders 1994; Saßman 2012; Seid 2010; Shekarabi-Ahari 2012; Stark 2005; Stehl 2009; Tsiouli 2014; Wade 2006a; Wade 2006b; Wade 2011; Wysocki 1999; Wysocki 2006). …”

“…Such efforts have begun and shown promising results, including an online problem solving intervention to address executive dysfunction in adolescents with TBI, 36,37 and an online positive parenting skills intervention for families of children with TBI. 38 Such programs lay the foundation for a healthcare system that addresses some of the multiple barriers to care access for vulnerable groups; expansion of these to include language and culturally adapted programs for families is a next step. Sustainable strategies to address the financial and practical barriers to access and utilization are needed.…”

“…However, they demonstrated high intervention completion rates (71%) consistent with, and in some cases higher than, other PCIT studies (e.g., Antonini et al, 2012;Boggs et al, 2005;Schuhmann et al, 1998;Werba & Eyberg, 2006). Moreover, completion rates for the current study fare well relative to other evidenced-based parent training programs with attrition rates approaching 50% (Reyno & McGrath, 2006), and family-focused TBI interventions with attrition rates between 56% and 76% (Antonini et al, 2014(Antonini et al, , 2012. Notably, caregivers who dropped out of the intervention endorsed multiple psychosocial stressors during the time they were enrolled in the study, which may have contributed to their inability to complete the intervention.…”

“…Thus, it is unclear whether intervention effects will continue to maintain over time. However, relative to other intervention studies for children with TBI that only reported post-intervention data (Antonini et al, 2014(Antonini et al, , 2012Cohen et al, 2012), the current study provides preliminary support for maintenance of intervention gains. Lastly, the current study was primarily conducted in a university-based clinic setting, with home-based intervention delivery for two families.…”
