This reflects our scanty knowledge in this field though curiosity is widely recognised as one of the most important factors that contribute to motivation and effectiveness in education and scientific discovery. Lack of understanding in curiosity may be due partly to limitation of research methodology and technology. This paper… Show more

“…It is not commonplace for researchers, both domestically and internationally, to do research on connected concerns. In their study, Guo et al (2010) examined the feasibility of utilizing Google Trends as a proxy variable to measure the attention of Internet users [10]. In their study, Kang et al (2013) employed Google Trends as a tool to gauge the level of public interest in illness-related material.…”

“…Compared to conventional surveys, this method has the advantage of being less costly, and representing a much bigger sample size (Ladle et al, 2016), while lacking the obstacle of nonresponse bias (Groves, 2006). Furthermore, internet searches reflect curiosity in a matter (Guo et al, 2010). Therefore, a growing number of studies across various disciplines use internet search data, including in the field of nature conservation and human-nature interactions (Cerri et al, 2020(Cerri et al, , 2021Fink et al, 2020;Kleinschroth & Kowarik, 2020;Proulx et al, 2014;Soulsbury, 2020).…”
