Despite affecting millions of families around the world, parental alienation has been largely unacknowledged or denied by legal and health professionals as a form of family violence. This complex form of aggression entails a parental figure engaging in the long-term use of a variety of aggressive behaviors to harm the relationship between their child and another parental figure, and/or to hurt the other parental figure directly because of their relationship with their child. Like other forms of family violence, parental alienation has serious and negative consequences for family members, yet victims are often blamed for their experience. In order to be recognized as a form of family violence and to secure protection for victims under law and social policies, a formal review and comparison of parental alienating behaviors and outcomes to child abuse and intimate partner violence has been sorely needed. The result of this review highlights how the societal denial of parental alienation has been like the historical social and political denial or other forms of abuse in many parts of the world (e.g., child abuse a century ago). Reframing parental alienating behaviors as a form of family violence also serves as a desperate call to action for social scientists to focus more theoretical and empirical attention to this topic. Public Significance StatementThis article presents parental alienating behaviors as a form of family violence with serious consequences for children and families. Professional recognition of parental alienation and the alienating behaviors that cause it is a necessary first step toward stimulating much needed research in this area and in the development and testing of effective clinical, educational, and legal interventions to prevent and mitigate the damaging effects of this form of family violence.

Intimate partner violence (IPV) and child abuse (CA) are two forms of family violence with shared qualities and risk factors, and are forms of violence that tend to overlap. Acceptability of violence in partner relationships is a known risk factor in IPV just as acceptability of parent-child aggression is a risk factor in CA. We hypothesized that these acceptability attitudes may be linked and represent the expression of a general, underlying nonspecific acceptance of violence in close family relationships. The sample involved 164 male IPV offenders participating in a batterer intervention program. Implicit measures, which assess constructs covertly to minimize response distortions, were administered to assess acceptability of partner violence against women and acceptability of parent-child aggression. To determine whether acceptability attitudes regarding both forms of violence were related to a higher order construct tapping general acceptance of family violence, Bayesian confirmatory factor analyses were conducted. Findings supported a hierarchical (bifactor) model with a general factor expressing a nonspecific acceptance of family violence, and two specific factors reflecting acceptability of violence in intimate partner and parent-child relationships, respectively. This hierarchical model supporting a general acceptance of violence in close family relationships can inform future research aiming to better understand the connections between IPV and CA.

Phenomenon is very clear now that millennial children hunt a lot of films in theaters. Not only as a lifestyle, but also as a necessity. While the reality in the Indonesian film industry is found the fact that more and more western films from Hollywood, Korean films, Indian films, and others. So the local film is worth educating to have a lot of work on. The Indonesian government must encourage film producers to fill cinemas with local films. Like the three films titled "Turah", "Jack" and "Yo wis Ben" whose local characters are strong. Films by raising the culture of Central Java and East Java and the film in Javanese or Regional languages. In line with the roadmap making Indonesia 4.0, which was launched by the Minister of Industry of Indonesia in April 2018, which demands the collaboration of all institutions and institutions to deal with Indonesia 4.0 era. One of them is encouraging the optimization of educational institutions to prepare technologybased education and human resources. Also hopes that education will still instill the character of the nation's generation If the education mapping is directed towards this matter, the role of producers in educating generations through local films is demanded. Millenials will indirectly learn a lot about ethics, culture and attitudes through film. Do not stop there, the presence of local figures or players also need to be reproduced in the film industry in Indonesia. The research question is how to optimize character education through local films as an effort to instill local ethics and culture for millennials. The research method is a case study by taking three local films in Javanese language and collecting data through interviews. The result is that Local Film plays an important role in efforts to improve character education for millennials. They love local language and cultured ethics more after watching the three films.
