A Preliminary Investigation of Water Quality Collected from Various Sources under Mokokchung District, Nagaland

Abstract

Adequate water resources for future generations are not only a regional issue but also a global concern. Our country's fresh water wealth is under threat due to variety of natural and human influences, so there was a need to test the water qualities. The water quality assessment was conducted under Mokokchung District, Nagaland. The samples collected were analyzed for various parameters -pH, TDS, EC, TH, DO, BOD, ORP, SULFATE, PHOSPHATE, CALCIUM, MAGNESIUM, CHLORIDE, ALKALINITY and IRON. It has been observed that most of the water samples were within the permissible limits of the given standards.
