A Proposal for Streamlining 3D Digital Cadastral Data Lifecycle

Abstract: In urban areas, managing the lifecycle of land and property data related to interlocked and intertwined structures and infrastructure services is a grand challenge for cadastral systems. Addressing the physical and legal complexities of vertically stratified ownership arrangements is a major step towards the modernization of cadastral systems. The research problem that this study addresses is the lack of a simplified and effective approach for modelling, storing, visualizing, and querying 3D cadastral data for… Show more

“…They used ShapeChange to create the XML file of the physical data model and exported the output into GML format [123]. In some cases, local formats like ePlan were used [15], while in others, ontology was used to combine different domains and to merge with other standards and formats. For example, Soon et al proposed a semantic-based fusion framework by extending the LADM OWL ontology to integrate CityGML and 3D LandXML [124].…”

“…The second challenge was resolved by introducing a Triangulator transformer, which splits wall geometry into triangular units, resulting in valid solid geometries in the 3D spatial database. Ultimately, the data were visualised using Cesium, and a few queries were used to verify the results [15]. This study offered a practical solution for streamlining the 3D cadastral data lifecycle, addressing data preparation, storage, management, and communication challenges.…”

“…The content of RRRs can be modeled based on the LADM standard national while BIM provides rich semantic information for land management activities. Combining BIM/IFC with LADM creates a correlation that enhances our understanding of the legal space in complex building Guler et al, (2022); Ying et al, (2021); Olfat et al, (2021). BIM is increasingly applied to 3D condominium ownership management, offering advantages like semantic relationships between legal spaces and together with ownerships.…”

“…This geographic information provides an authoritative mapping of land parcel boundaries and associated attributes that enable land markets [12], secured land tenure [2,13], and evidence-based policymaking [14]. However, the integrity and resilience of land information infrastructure now face acute risks in an increasingly digitised and interconnected era [15][16][17][18]. The need for innovative approaches tailored specifically to managing cyber risks within LAS organisations remains unfulfilled [19].…”
