“…As for neck LND, Chen et al 11 published a systematic review and meta‐analysis, which included four studies (one prospective randomized trial, three retrospective studies) 21–24 which investigated the efficacy of LigaSure™ for head and neck cancer. The meta‐analysis concluded that the use of LigaSure™ shortens operating time compared use of conventional techniques in neck LND; however, LigaSure™ did not positively affect intraoperative blood loss, time to drain removal, duration of hospital stay, and postoperative bleeding and infection.…”

The metaanalysis concluded that the use of LigaSure™ shortens operating time compared use of conventional techniques in neck LND; however, LigaSure™ did not positively affect intraoperative blood loss, time to drain duration of hospital stay, and postoperative bleeding and infection.Despite multiple studies reporting inconsistent outcomes regarding the efficacy of LigaSure™ in axillary and neck LND, there is only one study (a prospective randomized trial), which compared the short-term postoperative complications between LigaSure™ and conventional ILND in 40 vulvar cancer patients 18.…”

“…The LS-SJ provides thermal sealing with a tissue driver and seals an area of up to 7 mm in diameter by denaturing collagen and elastin within the vessel wall and the surrounding connective tissue (1,2). LS-SJ has been reported to reduce operative times, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative pain and hospital stay, and be useful in endoscopic surgery (3,4). In breast cancer, Tukenmez et al reported that LigaSure™ can be safely used in axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) (5).…”
