Abstract:Staphylococcus aureus is a major pathogen causing bacteraemia, pneumonia, skin and soft tissue infections (SSTIs), and osteomyelitis. Over the past 50 years, it has acquired resistance to antimicrobials including the penicillinase-resistant ones like methicillin.
