The maritime industry is a worldwide area of work where critical decisions are made in critical situations. The fact that decision-making is based on a scientific and mathematical basis has been in academic authorities' attendance area for the last five decades. In this study, a literature review has been conducted on the use of decision-making techniques in maritime practices. In the literature survey, Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) methods have been examined, studies in Turkey and the International area carded; weights, distributions, usage reasons, advantages, and disadvantages of methods determined based on studies have been comparatively studied. The main aim of this paper is to statistically compare the quality and quantity of the papers published on the decision-making techniques used in maritime in Turkey and the International area. In addition to MCDM techniques, other mathematical methods used in shipping are also included in the study. The evaluation of other mathematical methods and their comparison with the commonly used methods have been made under a subtitle in this paper.

Human errors have serious role in the occurence of maritime accidents. More emphasis should be placed on the human factor rather than automation and technology with quality and effective training. In order to maintain safety culture on board, it is necessary to standardize the effectiveness of the trainings. The aim of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the training given to seafarers and seafarer candidates participating in basic safety training. The participants of the study are 275 seafarers or seafarer candidates. It has been used for the assessment of the effectiveness of basic safety training in terms of reaction of Kirkpatrick Training Evaluation Model. The data obtained from the scale results were analyzed by using non-parametric tests (Mann Whitney U test and Kruskal Wallis H test) on SPSS package program. As a result of the study, it has been concluded that basic safety trainings were effective on high level. The effectiveness perception of the seafarers participating training first time was higher than the seafarers participating training for renew their certificates.

Deniz ticareti birçok sistem ve yapıyı bünyesinde bulunduran ülkelerin ekonomik gelişmelerinde öncü olarak işleyen bir faaliyetler bütünüdür. Bu sistemin oldukça önemli bir bileşenini ise gemiadamları oluşturmaktadır. Gemiadamlarının performans ve kalitesi denizcilik sektörünün kalitesini doğrudan etkileyen oldukça önemli bir parametredir. Bu noktadan yola çıkılarak çalışmada gemiadamlarına uygulanacak idari yaptırımlara ilişkin yönerge kapsamında iş yaşantıları süresince yapmış oldukları veya yapabilecekleri mesleki hatalar nicel bir yaklaşım yöntemi ile değerlendirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu şekilde, Türk gemiadamlarının görev ihmallerinde en fazla hangi hatayı yapma eğiliminde olduklarına ilişkin görüşler belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Ayrıca, gemiadamlarının çalışmada bahsi geçen uygunsuz eylemlere olan yatkınlığı ile bu durumların gemi ve hukuki açıdan karşılaşılma sıklığına yönelik bir analiz yapılması da sağlanmıştır. Çalışmanın verilerinin analizi için bulanık Çok Kriterli Karar Verme (ÇKKV) Tekniklerinden birisi olan AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) yönteminden yararlanılmıştır.
