A quick Look at the Registered Cases of Covid-19 Throughout the World

Abstract: The present work analyzes the registered cases of Covid-19 throughout the world according the data registered at Johns Hopkins University. We selected 15 countries to analyze their data. In alphabetical order the countries are: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Germany, India, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Portugal, Spain, United States and Venezuela. With this information, three different studies were carried out. First, the data was validated using Benford's Law which is based on forensic techniqu… Show more

“…Finally, the value of the Effective Reproduction Number (R t ) is estimated according to the Wallinga and Lipsitch methodology [7], which has been validated in several scientific articles [4,5]. This basically consists of determining a function called the generation time (mGT), which is the lag time between infection in a primary case and a secondary case.…”

“…For this reason, we here propose to study the dynamics of infections in twelve European countries selected in the first wave of infections, and finely calculate how many people should be vaccinated in each country to stop the advance of the epidemic in each country. In parallel, the mantissa value of the total accumulated cases was calculated according to the methodology proposed by Isea [4][5][6], which allows visualizing the rhythm of the "infection rate" as a function of time, according to the following equation:…”

“…The scientific community is continuously working in models to predict the dynamics of contagion by Covid-19 [1][2][3][4] From the previous record, the value of the Mantissa was determined according to the methodology proposed by Isea [5,6], which allows visualizing the rhythm of the "infection rate" as a function of time (this last comment will be discussed better in the Results section). generate negative effects in the very short term, so it is necessary to design measures that manage to contain the cases that occurred in the capital region and in the dormitory cities that border with the Capital District.…”

“…As can be seen in the scientific literature, multiple mathematical models are being carried out to monitor the Covid-19 epidemic [1][2][3][4], but they must be recalculated on a daily basis. For this reason, a simple mathematical operation is proposed to determine whether or not the epidemic is being overcome, and to visualize how severe the epidemic is in real time.…”
