Abstract:Arterio-venous malformations (AVMs) are congenital vascular lesions in which dysplastic arteries are connected to the veins without an intervening capillary bed. High arterial flow directly into venous structures can lead to disruption of the venous walls and ultimately cause hemorrhage.
