Abstract: Guillain–Barre syndrome (GBS) is an autoimmune disorder affecting the peripheral nervous system, often triggered by infections. This important medical emergency can also have noninfectious causes, such as trauma, surgery, medication (including vaccinations), and other systemic disorders.
